    CB install on Jeep Liberty

First off I would like to introduce you to the 75 wx st CB radio.
Right now you're asking yourselves: Gee why did Pete get such a girly CB, why didn't he get a manly mans CB?
I'll tell you why! Well as we all know the KJs weren't "kewl" enough to have a space on the side of the middle console with a strap like the KKs do to hold things down. SOooOooo thats I decided to get this little until. Its nice and small and every thing is in the palm if your hand.

    Now to the install.
It took 2 hours because well, know you, pictures and ummm cigarette breaks .

Ok first off I had to shorten the bracket because it would still out to much and it wouldn't look "pimp".
Don't pay attention to those open holes , nothing that some liquid weld and some touch up paint wont fix.

Here is the rear right side light removed and that hole can be found behind some tape. (Ghetto DC hole cover)
With my superman xray ninja vision I noticed in that hole was another hole to the left that would lead to the inside of the trunks panel.

After getting all 18' of cable in you can see the cable inside the trunk. I would take a better picture but I would need a 3 arm to take a picture while the other hands held the panel open and the other fished out the wire.

Got all the cable in the trunk and decided to run it a cross the trunk under the carpet from the right side end of the trunk to the left side corner pocket (anyone wanna play pool?)

Here is the wire that I ran a cross coming out behind the rear drivers side seat.

Here I just popped off the plastic panel? beside the rear seat to run the cable

Did the same to the panel next to the front seat to run the cable. And yes I vacuumed that dirt on the end because I'm anal like that 8)

Took the plastic cover off under the steering column held by 2 screws.

This is where I got creative. I decided to get power for the CB from the fuse box. Sooo I busted out my certified electricians tool box to attach a ATM fuse add a line.

Got out the manual, looked at the fuses and decided to use #16 which is the one that sends power to that rear outlet in the trunk. Seriously, how many times have you used it?? IF I do need to use it all I have to do is pop out the add a line and put back the fuse. Less then 30 seconds for that.

Cover back on and wires tucked in nice.

Decided to make the hole on the rear light water proof so I got some gorilla tape and some water proofing sealant.
I guess you can consider that one step over the ghetto DC way

Nice install. If you get engine noise through the CB you'll want to go straight to the battery for power and use an inline fuse holder. Don't forget to tune the antenna with an SWR meter. Oh, and that CB rocks man, nice everything in one place package makes it really easy to use and hide. My buddy's dad had one in his travel van for years.

    Thanks guys,

I couldn't pass out when I saw the CB on ebay for an amazing deal so I had to take it.
Jeepen_it_real tuned it for me with his SWR meter and I thought I would get engine noise but I didn't. The sound was very clear.
    I'm very impressed.

2 thumbs up on my side
