    '98 5.9L Build

So, this is the first post in my build thread. I haven't even bought my first part yet, so it'll be a long time coming before this thread is done. But here goes.

This is going to be the list of mods/repairs I intend to do and have done. I'll come back and either cross stuff off or replace/add as I go along.

The lift will probably happen first, then other things will come together as I find good deals.

    mods/repairs:

    Suspension:
Iron Rock 4.5" with swaybar links & adjust front/rear track bars and bilsteins
    Rocky-road control arm drop
    Jesse James Black Widow 18's
    31's

    Engine:
    K&N FIPK
    52mm Throttle Body
    Headers (undecided on what)
Magnaflow exhuast (probably the 3" pipe but undecided)
Hemifever "can" tune job, then upgrade to a custom once EVERYTHING is done

    Drivetrain:
    Custom front driveshaft from IronRock
    242 transfer (I want the 2WD option)

    Armor:
    Bumpers
    Skid Plates
    Rock Slider
.... all undecided on exactly what

    Repairs:
    Front CV's
    Coolant Sensor
Fuel Leak and Throttle Body codes from Check Engine light (think I took care of this with fuel system cleaner and premium gas)
Reinforce rear track bar & rear upper control arm brackets (where they mount on unibody)
90k mile service (not sure what is supposed to be done but Jeep recommends something...)
Headlights are... well, troubled and falling off
    Driver's side seat feels like a teeter-totter
Driver's side heated seat doesn't work

Let me know what you think and what you recommend. I'll post pics and link to a vid (that way the sound difference will be included as well).

    AND HERE WE GO!!!

No pics yet. But I'll be sure to get some up soon. Going to Windham in it tomorrow (cross you fingers for the cv's and rear end holding up) so it'll be all kinds of dirty. But maybe that's the best time for some pics.

  6. be sure you take lots of pics you will be happy you did

4.5" with 31s? They'll look small man step up to 33s! Most of them really measure like 32.5inches tall but sounds like a solid pan and good luck with the 5.9
    89 Comanche-4.0,ax-15,D30/44 lifted 6.5 Clayton Longarms on 33'' A/Ts

Yeah I know. But I live in the city and will spend most my time driving this beast on the freeway (I've already put 1,000 miles on it in 2 weeks!). It's hard to justify all the extra gas and money for 33's when I won't be off-roading nearly enough to wear them down.

  9. 33s on stock gears always in 4wd and doing about 1000 miles in 2 weeks dont sound good at all...actually sounds like disaster

i have a 4.5 in with 32s and was tuff stuffin them in there...33 is calling for a lot of trimming

Just in case others run into similar situations and want/need to do some of these things, I'm going to include writeups about everything. Either writeups that help me or ones that I'll do, if I can't find any.
