Yea. I thought it was gonna be HP but its a LP. Its 3/4 ton not 1/2 ton like the HP were so Im up in the air again about keeping it. Figured Id better jump on it either way. Couldnt pass up on the price. Its stronger than the HPs were so thats a plus... Ill sit on it a bit. Not in any rush.

Any 44 from 771/2 and up solid or TTB should be a high pinion. Early ford trucks used low pinion front axles. So I am not really sure what you have there.

Yea got it from Mike. Its in great shape already stripped and ready for new brackets. Ive been Pming a guy on JF running the same axle and hes running a 3/4 ton LP 44 , 60 on 39.5;s and beating the piss out of it. Its stong enough. My issue is vibes from the DS angle. If I run teh low pro Tcase mount it will give me the same depth as a HP axle. Ill have to put up money for the truss but for the strength i dont think it can be beat...

Is he runnign that 44 on 39.5 with opne por locked diff...Personally i dont know how the 30 spline 60 rear i have will hold up to my 40's. The front will do fine it has 35 spline stubs. If the rear 30 spline 60 doesnt hold my p,an will be to bore the spindles and run dana 70 35 spline inners.

  7. Those dana 44s are auper stong even the 35s that came on those trucks. One friend of mine has been running a 35 with 33s and beats the hell put of it and the only thing that has broken is the ARB.

The guy whos brain im picking had a set of ARBs in them. Now I think hes on Pro rocks.

So here is the axle. Got it all stripped down. All but the ball joints. Save that for another day. It appears to be in great shape. Gonna take a wire wheel to it next and prime it to keep the rust down while it sits. Still not totally happy about the LP. But I do have that LowPro tranny mount still. It I can use that it will give me the same angle as if I had a HP... hhmmmmm

After looking at Mr.N's Dana 44 page, it looks like you have a HD low pinion Dana 44 from a 76-77.5 F250, only used that axle for those 2.5 years.
