    Thumbs up Carcrazi07 & Beach8's 90 XJ project

So Chris at Broadway Auto Parts gives my son his 90 XJ limited, the body's straight almost no rust, just filthy, it's loaded, leather etc,
Trans wouldn't shift, almost no brakes but runs OK
So far-replace TPS- now it shifts fine
new rear wheel cylinder and springs, front calipers, pads & rotors- good pedal but it's gotta go to Chrysler for the antilock brake recall
Fixed odds and ends, some wiring, hatch lift pistons, light socket, dash bulbs
    change all fluids
    Tune up
To Do- all hoses, belt and idler pulley (A/C still works)
    2 power side view mirrors
A REAL GOOD cleaning and polishing
After all this we'll see how she drives and decide how radical to get

so hopefully tonite will get the front rotors and calipers in, and finish gettin the rear spring perch out and replace that. have to cut a whole in the frame because the welded nut broke inside so the bolt is just spininng.classes are out for the next month so its time for me to go to town!!

i feel your pain...perch to frame nut weld popped on me as well was forced to cut the bolt at the main eye of leaf spring...gotta love the unibody!

Well, today we froze all morning cutting our way into that welded in nut inside the frame rail, such fun, I always wind up
doing spring and nasty work on the coldest days, anyway we got it apart, got a new grade 8 bolt, nut & some washers
tomorrow I'm gonna try to weld it all back together again, then move on to more meaningful work, I hate stupid S**t
repairs. How do you design something that has no access without being destructive? $%^&* engineers!!!!

they never think of us little guys, wrenching away in the cold and hot weather!

No I guess they don't, in their defense though (I hate this part) they do have to make the design to fit in a budget and to be built on an assembly line as quickly as possible
If any of us were to design one 1) It would probably never break 2) Anyone (mostly) could service it with basic tools 3) It would cost so much to build that we could never make money on it LOL
Thank goodness for MIG welders, cures a multitude of problems
