    The Walking Dead

Anyone been watching this new series on AMC??

The first season just ended last night and I think it was an awesome start to a new show. I'm not sure how many seasons they can get out of it with the amount of people they lost in Season 1 (and I never read the graphic novels cause I didn't even know what it was based from so I guess in a good way I'm in the dark on the show). Hopefully Season 2 continues with the same great story, pace, and zombies.

If they are really planning on surviving, tey better start using more of what's around them. So far I've counted 3 military areas and the only thing they got out of them was 1 berretta, a grenade and a fire axe. Guns were a-plenty at the CDC, not to mention trading in their hoopty mobiles for a bunch of humvees.

I think the best was the first and second episodes where the sherriff had trouble finding gas. Abandoned cars literally surrounding him, and he turns away at a pump that says "no gas." What's up with that.

Also the writers better catch up on there gun knowlege. Being a "gun-nut" a zombie fan pretty much go hand in hand. GLOCKS DON'T HAVE THUMB SAFETIES!!!

  3. Yea def a kick but show I look foward to every episode!!!

what really, two out of five vehicles were Jeeps, one being an incredibly rare Grand Wagoner, now if you were talking about making the trade for armor and better protection from the geeks then you got a point but I'll take a clapped out YJ or SJ over a Humvee any day.

btw great show cant wait till next season.

You are running for your life. If you get stuck you are dead, so out of nostalgia you pick 2 vehicles when all around you you have standardized vehicles, maintained like clockwork since their inception, that all take the same fuel? Congradulations, you are lunch. Look how much trouble they had finding a radiator hose for the RV. I love my JK, but on Z day, I'd leave her parked on the side of the road, and take an abandoned military vehicle.

If they had enough time, they could have bought an extra week or two at the CDC is they used the diesel fuel sitting in the parking lot.

I love the show too but agree that I'd grab a hummer and possibly a tank if I could figure out how to drive the thing.
Load up on guns, ammo and food, get to any strong structure not too far outside the city (so you can raid the city for supplies) and go about surviving.
Sucks that it won't be back untill October 2011!

Humvee with a turret would be my personal choice. Wow didn't know it won't come back until October 2011 that's a long long time away they must not have thought it would do well to have a year gap between seasons... I think watching it makes you realize some mistakes people would naturally make. Things like guns/ammo rounds/etc. will never be accurate in these kinds of shows because it doesn't help them drive the story. They want the visuals, those perfect camera angles zooming from one part to another, changing focus, etc. so they make embellishments on reality to get it done. I dunno, I can get over a safety latch here and there or the idiocy of them driving a big clunky broken POS RV around for the sake of having a decent zombie show to watch

My brother in Az and I had this debate just yesterday. I told him there was no time to mess around trying to figure out how a tank worked, he said he would definitely keep the tank. I still said just the humvees. Personally, I'm not sure why he didn't try doubling back to the hospital back home. 1) try and pick up the guy and his son and 2) you could retreat back to the police station. The area didn't seem that Walker dense, and you had a secure area with a generator.

I dont watch the show, im a SOA fan but besides the point a tank would be better because your fully enclosed and can lock the hatch from the inside. Thus giving you all the time in the world to figure out how to drive it. So what a walker climbs on top of the tank wtf is it going to do lol
    Its a jeep thing...

The problem is you could get trapped in the tank. Thousands of Zeds surrounding you, and because you can't drive one, you get it stuck. Now what do you do? Try and run and end up a snack or starve to death in the tank? I'll stick to the Humvees thank you.
