    Sup from Suffolk

Wassup guys and girls just joined recently and am looking forward to partaking in some offroad trips in the future. I live in Suffolk county NY. My rig is a 2000 Cherokee Sport auto with 4.0L and Chrysler 8.25.

    My Mods so far:

    C4x4 front hooks
    Mopar Rear Hitch
Rough Country x series 4.5 lift
    AA SYE
    5 Moabs with MTRS

I'm thinking about adding a front bumper and maybe an Aussie up front.

Unfortunatley I just finished the lift, and am getting vibes at low speed...awesome. Any suggestions would be great.

  2. Welcome Welcome Welcome. Nice truck. And about your shake. Would need a little more info. But first thing i always ask is "did you align the truck after the lift was installed". Lifting it will toe it in a mile. Or if it was not done properly it could cause headaches. beyond that, it could be many other possibilities. We will help out. Good group here thats always ready to help if we can.

First, thanks for the drive shaft.

I did not get it aligned yet. I think the angles may be off in both the front and rear. The noise is a rotational clunking, and possible u joint binding for wrong angles...does this sound right?

Heeeyyy Whats up. Glad to see you found your way over to OO. Check the rear shaft. At the transfer case end. I have grinded them to keep them from binding. They cant take to much angle and bind with any lift over 3.5. And sometimes you can grind them where they contact and they will work. You may get lucky and have no pinion vibrations. If you still do, then its time to look into a slip yoke eliminator.

Yeah, the SYE is installed, whatever the noise is, its happening in the front and rear. I think I am going to remove the front and rear shaft and see if its coming form the TC. Hopefully its just a matter shimming a little more (already have 6* shims in the rear) and increasing the length of the upper control arms. If its in the TC, I plan on lighting the jeep on fire...lol.

I would come by, but the clunking is enough that it makes me uneasy to drive any distance.

Well I jacked the rear up and put it in drive (running) and let the rear tires spin and heard nary a noise. I pretty sure my original drive shaft in the front is shot (slip joint) so I'll test that next. Hopefully that's what is making the noise/vibes and not the TC.

I can't wait to button this up, get bigger tires and hit the beach for some surf casting!!
