Finished the bumper tonight... well besides paint and the frame tie in's. Today i got the latch finished and fully welded up, I made the part where the chains attach to for the hitch, cleaned up the edges and rounded the welds on the ends of the bumper, and sandblasted everything in prep for primer and paint tomorrow.

Thanks everyone! I returned the jet black paint because i really didnt feel like painting with a lacquer, so i picked up a quart of some rustoleum gloss black enamel paint to paint the bumper and tire carrier. Ill have to paint it tomorrow if theres not a monsoon outside

Really looks great. If your gonna go black put some thought into the rustolium spray on bed liner. Extremely durable, UV protected, and has a nice subtle texture. I do my whole truck in it...

I was thinking into doing it but i was worried that if i changed my mind after i put it on it would be impossible to come off. if i dont like the paint the way it is now, i can always spray the bedliner over it

Ive been sick for the past few days and havnt gotten a chance to paint the bumper. yesterday i painted the bumper and today i painted the swingout (still waiting to dry). While im waiting impatiently for the tire swingout to dry, i mounted the bumper to the jeep and took some pics. Hopefully the bumper will dry in two hours or so so i can get some final pics.

All finished... well besides making the frame tie in. Drove with it last night to my campsite and had no problems with the latch or any wobbling or rattling. I tied part of a ratchet strap loosely to the swingout so i can be sure that my latch works, once im confident that it wont pop open ill take it off

    Heres some pics:
