If you just wanna do a budget boost you can get WJ lower control arms so u don't rub at full lock because they have a bend in them but are the same exact length
Have a stock 99 XJ with 225 75 15 tires on 15x7 rims. Going forward I'm looking at all scenarios from 30 x 9.50 on the stock rims to lifting and stuffing something larger on new rims underneath the wells. Really a question of bang for the buck. My question to you guys that have gone through this is what needs to be done lift and mod wise for the following wheel sizes:
30x9.50 tire on the stock 15x7 rims (maybe no lift but any shaving?)
31x10.5 on stock or new 15x8 rims (lift/cut?)
32x11.5 on new 15.8 (lift/cut?)
Of course I can't wait to some done up rides on the 6th.
Thanks guys!
Bill

At stock ride height you can fit 30X9.50 but will have to trim the fenders. How much trimming depends on how much the stock springs are sagging. 31X1050 will fit on stock wheels and a budget boost..(coil spacer and longer shackle) but for 32 or 33 you will need to lift. I am running 33's with a 4.5" lift. If you are planning to wheel it I wouldnt suggest any of the budget boosts because in another year you will just want to go higher anyways. I would say to save up for the lift and larger tires.

You can fit 33's stock with proper trimming and bumpstoping, I'd recomend a setup such as 3" of lift and 33's with proper bumpstops, Its one of the best working setups
Well if you are willing to cut you can fit anything, but with out axle articulation its not going to be worth it

def do it right the first time. Save a little cash and go with a well built and designed lift kit. The highest I'd go before worrying about installing a SYE and CV driveshafts is a 4.5" lift. This is what both myself and 565matt are running on our XJ's. He is running a Rustys lift, and I have a combo Rough Country and Rustys lift. I currently am running 31's due to how long these goddamn tires have lasted hahaha. But once they go Ill be throwing on a set of 33x12.50s. He has 33s and don't think hes having any problems.

What do you mean? the truck will still flex fine you dont need a millon inches of lift for the truck to flex.

Guy's that's great stuff, if you're gonna be around Saturday I'd like to pick your brains a little. I agree about doing it right the first time, I have already had the issue of wanting to go higher a week after getting new stuff.
Thanks- Bill
