You don't have any of those plastic bumper covers in black? Heard they turn black if you armor-all them btw (sure you have extras to test it on lol). Unless you like the faded gray plastic color haha
Had a lot of Jeep parts selling the last week so i fell behind on the 99. Ive been just trying to do little bits on the 99 before i pull sold parts off the parts trucks. Its also been hard since im trying to replace $400. in lost cash and it is worse since the Misses is still uneasy sitting home alone. So i cant stay at the shop till all hours of the night.
This is what i accomplished after work today.
Installed the 3rd flare. Couldnt do the last one since i ran out of just about every type of metal cutting blade, wheel, grinder i had LOL. So 3 down and ill get some cut off wheels tomorrow.
Starting to make those 33s look a little small with all that extra wheel well room LOL. May need 35s Haha. I like plenty of room to flex anyway.
Also until i make a rear bumper i like i trimmed the stock bumper ends to fit with the flares. Ill toss them when i make a REAL bumper.

Never put armor all on plastic fenders. It will look good for the first few times then turn them gray even faster. Get a can of textured krylon fusion for patio furniture...
Jeep is looking mean! Wanna see some pics of it out in the light!

I've also read that you can bring the black plastic back with use of a heat gun, just be careful to not heat it so much as to screw up the shape or texture. Probably best not to do it on the Jeep or else you might hurt the paint.

Yeah i plan to paint it in the future. Only held on by 1 bolt each so it takes bout 2 seconds to remove them. At this point faded looked better than open bumper ends LOL.

When i make the bumper i want its going top run up the quarters. Ill chop them and fill them with 2X6 box steel on a slight angle to almost look like the stock quarter. But it will be part of the rear bumper which will also be made out of 2X6 box. It will be simple but functional.

More work done. Busy after work pullin some more parts for people. Which is a good thing. No money = no building trucks. Anyway. Got the last flare on and spent the rest of my time playin with the fork lift to see what we have for clearance and flex. Plenty of room for the tires from what i can see, but i know thats all useless until im out on the trail in real world flex situations. I have to find my flex height for the 92 XJ over in the competition thread. But i think the 92 did better than the 99. 99 had 24 inches. Not great but i still have some things to do to really dial it in. But it still looked damn good LOL.
Ive got plenty of down travel. Its the up travel thats lacking. In the pics you can see the rear and front tires could go a little higher in the wheel wells.
And i pulled the grill guard off the 92 to shoot a coat of paint on it. Still need to pull the winch bumper and shoot that as well. Then they will go on the 99. And wait for its winch.
