Installed the other rear shock finally LOL. Also did some undercoating and welded in 2 heavy duty universal exhaust hangers to finish off the exhaust. Bought new rear pads and rotors yesterday. Waiting until i do the diff covers and the axle seal in the rear. Also developed the first loud clunk haha. Loose upper control arm bolt. So i went around and retightened all the bolts. Growing pains that will come up with all the new parts.

Well im sad to say im not gonna be taking the 99 to Go Topless. Not because i cant have it ready. But lack of cash LOL. I will be lucky to have the extra money to register it next week. That being said i did get some work done the last week. Mostly just removing some of the skids from the 92 and cleaning them up and painting them. I painted the front skid but im waiting to get the alignment on the 99 dialed in before i install it. Kind a pain to align with the skid. But the trailer hitch / gas skid on the other hand could be installed. I yanked the rear bumper and opened the frame rail holes up for easir access and to put strips of steel in the rail to strengthen the mounting of the hitch.
As i was digging for hardware i found an old fullsize Chevy front tow hook. So i figured id see how it would fit. Not only did it look great but the holes lined up to the trailer hitch mounting holes. Any extra recovery point is a plus.
Left the bumper off for the night. I want to paint some stuff underneath. I also found another goodie i forgot i had. A direct plug in 4 pin trailer wire harness. Plugs rite into the drivers tailight wiring harness. I saved it off the 98 XJ we parted last year. I didnt own a later model XJ at the time but my hoarder instincts could predict the future LOL. Not that its so hard to wire up trailer lights. But i had the 92 for alomost 6 years and i "never got around to it" LOL.

I can drive it daily now, just need the alignment done. Its all bolt ons and swapping parts from the 92 from here on. Could use a good wash and wax. Theres a nice black paint job under the grime. Needs a good compounding. But it will all be a waste when i scratch it up LOL. Then its time for some form of camo paint scheme.
