Thread: Your plan

    Your plan

So as many of us here are all zombie fanatics, im guessing we have all spent days worth of hours dreaming and planning for the fateful day. So what are YOUR PLANS? chosen weapons, vehicles, outfitting, escape plan and destination.

    ill start off.
    weapons:
shotgun (finding clips filled with 5.56 rounds to fill your AR-15 will prove to be extremely difficult. the shotgun is one of THE most common household weapons. which means ammo is much easier to come across during looting situations. Also the ability to load single shells at a time means you can keep your weapon loaded at all times, without having to repack what limited clips you have for other weapons) Unrivaled in anything dealing with CQB. the ability to customize the weapon to your liking is a huge plus. the are plenty of different chokes, barrels, and 2 ammo types to choose from. you can get a truly unique setup promising you true prowess in the short range section, to the medium ranged ability of slugs. rest assured, if there is a wall of walkers coming at you, the shotgun will get it done. just hope that your shoulders and ears can take the pounding

revolvers (for pretty much the same reason as the shotgun, reloading purposes) however a 9mm glock is not a bad idea either, loot any precint and your sure to come across plenty of ammo and mags

I personally have a compound bow, great for medium range shots, and silent which means you dont alert the other walkers. arrows can *hopefully* be re-used, however that depends on the strength of the material used to make the shaft. You must possess the archery skills to be anywhere near efficient with it though, shooting bare-hand is extremely difficult to get a accurate shot

melee weapon: i personally have chosen the crowbar. I have usually leaned towards the fire axe, however swinging that monstrosity wears you down and it poses the threat to become stuck and lodged in the target leaving you open for business. the crowbar doubles as a B&E tool, usefull for prying anything that has been boarded up. baseball bats are also a good choice, easy to swing and dont get stuck

vehicles: obviously.... my jeep, nuff said

escape plan/destination: since we all know that evacuation off this island will be impossible by vehicle. i have opted with a sailboat. you can harness the power of wind which means fuel is limitless. you are however limited to travel by direction and force of wind. so i plan on bringing some fishing rods and some propane grills which should last me a couple days of travel on the zombieless ocean (assuming they cant swim...)
my next course of action would be to sail up north into some less populated areas, probably up into northern Mass or Maine. from there gather supplies and find trucks for travel. once i have allotted my supplies and my vehicles i would start heading towards my eventual destination in the catskills. my uncles cabin is tucked up nice and far into bumblefuck land filled with more firearms than you will have people. he also has vegetable gardens and deer hunting is a usual activity, so once again harvesting your own food rather than looting, is a major plus. PLUS! it has plenty of land to wheel on

    so, whats your plan?

(im bored at work, bear with me lol)

if you cant find it, just grind it

  2. pistol wise, I would go for the .50cal Desert Eagle myself, but agree with your choice of vehicle.

Though I am as big a fanatic as some, my plan would be no differ than any other apocalypse scenario, head to the gas station, get and fill my tank and as many fuel cans as I can, then head to the local firearms store and take what I can and load up on as much ammo as I can. For guns and ammo, I would try to get as many firearms as i could that shot the same caliber ammo so I can carry more ammo and reloading becomes easier as I only have to reach for any box and I am good to go. as far as shot options, semi auto would be my preferred choice.

The family would of course be with me the whole time. after the gun store would be a trip to the food store, then to a fabric/leather store. Reason for this last one is to try and make some old school armor... thick padded leather to protect against biting and scratching. A high collar to protect the neck as well.

Tricked out M4/AR-15. 4+1 mags on person (many more on stand by) If you are having problems locating loaded AR mags, you are not prepared.

Remmy 870 Shotgun slung on back

Glock Trifecta (17, 19 and 26) on person

  4. The simplified version of my plan...

    SURVIVE!!!!!

  5. nice thread.

as for weapons. whatever i can fit in the jeep. .22 rifle, 30-06 rifle, 4-10 shotgun, chainsaws, baseball bats, hatchet, my gerber prodigy survival knife, and anything i can swing.

as far as transportation goes i will be in my jeep with kayak strapped ontop.

as for an escape plan, i will take all my survival/camping gear. i will be going to my job (food distributor) and getting as much food supplies as i can. all fishing gear will be packed in the truck as well. i have plans on going to my uncles cabin upstate in roscoe. right behind his house is a fresh water stream. i should be good with water. his closest neighbor is 2 miles away. ultimate goal is fight to the end. were all gonna die anyway right?

if all else fails im going to team up with our zombie jeep member Vin!

Hell, I think I'll tag around with you. The biggest problem will be getting off this island. We may need to bug in place here and steal a ferry. It'll be easier than trying to get out when the outbreak initially begins. We need a nice stong building where we can all hold up until we can grab a ferry boat.

yea its a big difference reading some of the plans from us LI guys to those upstate. My plans would def be to hold out and stay real low for a couple days. then i would run literaly 2 minutes down the road to local marina and pick out a sailboat and make it upstate, sadly leaving my jeep behind. but my uncle has 2 XJ's up at his place so i dont mind :/

onlt thing i can think of vin is the ferry would def have limited fuel and i dont think would be able to make it anywhere near as far north as i would prefer to go. it would be able to move our jeeps, but would you really wanna land in conneticut? or around boston? those are both big populated cities/states, no bueno for a easy escape. i think we need to contact orangecrush and see what a ferry is capable of, also to keep him ready with his ferry hehehe

one thing all the movies has taught me tho, chainsaws and moving vehicles DO NOT MIX

any inventions for your jeep would be cool too. i thought about a gun mount thingy to mount onto the dashboard. usefull for a sawed off pump shotgun, fire with one hand and place the pump handle onto the holder and pump with your trigger hand. just an idea i had

just a thought vinny, a .410 shotgun? those shells are extremely hard to find

Yea, I am figuring that when it happens, I will have some time not a lot but some. I am also taking into account that like in the movies, it will start in the big cities and spread from there, seeing as I am across the river from Albany, I should have a few days before people would be affected in my lil city.

An advantage I have here is just up the street from me is everything I need, walmart, gun store, gas station, auto parts store, and not that it matters much at that point, but my bank too. The bank vault could make a good "panic room" if needed, just make sure you can get out of that one.

Does anyone know if a Zombie can climb stairs?? I know the possibility of them swimming would be remote and unlikely, but how are they with steps? also, can they climb trees? or are they not mobile enough?
