Yeah the Renix setup is a pain in the ass sometimes. Its an OK system when it runs properly. But if youve read enough about them, you know the injectors can leak and catch fire LOL. The power and ground system is strange and French, so it stinks and has a bad attitude. If you ever need to track the wiring the schematics are retarded. I do want to do a H.O. 4.0 setup someday. But laziness has always gotten the better of me. I actually want to put a new O2 in the truck. If you ever listen to mine run it constantly richens and leans the fuel trim. So the truck will seem to kick the idle down and then bump back up. I always keep saying ill wait till the truck breaks down to get the motivation to rip the whole setup out and go H.O.

  3. It would make a world of a difference. I swapped out my 88 and went to a H.O. setup years ago but then it got me in more trouble. I was beating the crap out of the truck.

  4. Started gathering all the parts to fix up my Dana 44. Needs 1 axle seal and i figured what the hell. Ordered new axle bearings, both seals, wheel cylinders, riveted shoes and a hardware kit. Actually hard to find anyone that stocks riveted shoes for the 44. Going to replace all the hard lines. Cut the drums and give it a shot of paint. Figure fix it rite and install and be done. Then scratch that off the MJ to do list.

    Why riveted shoes.

I hate bonded shoes. When mud and sand find there way in, ive had it get behind the shoe lining and the lining break loose. You may get less mileage out of the riveted, but they dont come loose when you least expect it. Anyone thats had there ZJ grand rear e brake shoes knows what im talking about.

In the end, its just a preference. Ive had bonded fail and never had riveted. Easy sale for me LOL.

Heres some pics of the gathered parts and the my D44 axle shafts. I know people have shown 35 and 44 axle shafts side by side, so i wont bother. But god damn what a difference LOL.

Wagner brake shoes and the second seal showed up today. Mon, ill swap the bearings and seals. And if im feeling saucy ill stay late and do the brakes.

  8. Havent had a chance to get much done on the Dana 44. All the parts are gathered and the bearings are pressed on. But i did get some nice new fixed Rough Country lower control arms from evilpersona. So i decided there going on the MJ. But i also noticed the radiators side plastic tank is leaking a little. Time for a Champion all aluminum radiator.

I put the Champion 3 core all aluminum in the 92 XJ. It was about $200 with shipping. I may buy there 1 core. Its only $129. I dont need crazy cooling for the MJ. No A/C and i dont wheel it in hot weather since im old and need A/C.
