Sucks man. To bad it wasnt Thurs or id be there to lend a hand hahaha. TPS or ECU?
I posted this on JF also but figured I would reach out here and see what the local folks like Goonies had to say.
Been a long day and tomorrow is a busy one so I figured I would reach out here. My 2005 LJ Rubicon was running fine this morning for the 6 mile drive to work. After work it ran fine for the 20 mile drive to day care to pick up one kid and then another 12 miles to my in-laws to pick up the other kid. Leaving my in-laws it started and ran fine, backed out of the driveway and went 1/8th of a mile to the traffic light and while waiting on the light the engine started to stumble, I looked at the guages and they were dropping. I tried feathering the gas but it sputtered and died and would not start. I got lucky and my wife's uncle was driving by so he stopped and towed the Jeep to the in-laws house.
Me and my father-in-law went over everything we could visually check. The engine cranks freely with no wierd noises. There is definitely fuel pressure at the fuel rail, I checked. I am also getting spark, in fact if you feed the engine starter fluid it will run so it is not getting fuel in the cylinders from the injectors. We checked the relays, fuses, swapped the battery. We did notice something odd where we would get a no crank situation after disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, but then if we wiggled the power cable it would crank but that may just be that the terminal was cruddy.
At this point I am thinking it may be the CPS but I figured I would see if anyone had any other ideas. I mean what else is there other than the computer itself that would stop the injectors from firing? Any help is appreciated, thanks folks.

I had a no start/stall problem a lil while back it was my alternator that crapped out on me. I would look there too. pull it take it to the local parts store and have them test it. I know AA and AZ will test it for free. I also had no CEL with mine.

Thanks for the suggestion Bandit. I did think alternator/battery early on but when we found that it would start with starter fluid sprayed into it we kept it running for about 20 seconds and the voltmeter on the dash went right up to 14 so it looks like th charging system is ok. Also, we swapped in a fresh working battery from my father in law's truck and the Jeep still wouldn't start, if it was the alternator then it should have started and ran for a couple minutes.

Were is Goonies when you need him? LOL, but yea, you would think that would be correct, but I am no mechanic, so I dont really have the answer to that one... I seem to remember you replacing your fuel pump not that long ago then had some similar issues right after, have you checked what cuzed the original problem?

I would still get the Alt checked anyway just to rule it out.

Ya, good memory. A few weeks ago the Jeep had died at the beach but that was in fact the fuel pump that was the issue. I had no fuel pressure at the fuel rail. Now I have plenty of fuel pressure at the rail so I know the pump is working, but now the injectors aren't firing.
