  1. 1998 Cherokee Sport Classic XJ parting Out

This is the shops truck that we are parting out. Its a 1998 Jeep Cherokee Classic Sport. 4.0 6 in line 6, AW4 tranny, NP231 transfer case. Front High Pinion Dana 30 and rear drum 8.25 Chrysler. I havent checked but pretty sure there 3:55 gears. Grey cloth interior. Gray Grizzly wheels 15 x 7s. Took a light nose shot so bad header panel and LF fender. Dont know the miles, the digital odometer is not working. Im parting this truck out for Bob my boss. But i am stealing some stuff for myself. Any nose pieces not trashed im taking and the front hooks. Truck does run and drive. 4x4 works but the truck has no title so we cant sell it as a whole. Email me with needs or stop by to check it out. My email is goonies.nsd@gmail.com Please dont PM me through OO because the mailbox fills to quickly. I will post more info after i look the truck over fully. Thanks.

High pinion front you say.... I could be interested in that. Does it bolt directly into a ZJ? What kind of half-shafts does it have (U-joint or CV)?

I will check tomorrow. It will bolt rite in your ZJ. But the pinion length is the key. Some long some short. But 2 98s should be the same. I will look at it tomorrow. Regardless i could just add the front driveshaft to the deal.

Actually scratch that. the driveshafts would be diferent lengths in a 6 cyl and 8. but if the pinion depth is the same your good.

Bob loves the rims and wants to buy a truck just so he can use the rims lol. But he said he will take $160. for the wheels with the tires. There 30x9.5s but only so so tread.

If I'm putting a 3.5" lift on the Jeep.... and going from a low pinion to a high pinion.... I shouldn't have to do anything to the front driveshaft, right? My current one should end up being the perfect length because both ends of the driveshaft are being elevated. The tcase side is being raised by the lift. And the axle side is being raised by the high pinion axle swap, and they're both about 4" higher...

So as long as the pinion length is right, I'm good. And I guess I could always change that.... idk...

Oh... and I guess the control arm brackets have to be in the right spot... and it needs to use the same spindle... but I think they're pretty much just swap&trade.

  10. OK bump........

Bob couldnt decide whether he wanted to part this or not and he took a good week to decide. I made it easy for him because i started stealing what i wanted LOL. OK its a 98 with a 4.0 / AW4 / NP231. Not sure the mileage because the digital read out is not working. Drivetrain is in good order. Motor runs good with all accessories working. Dana 30 high pinion front axle with 3:55s. Rear Chrysler 8.25 with 3:55s.

Parts i stole. nose parts like grill and lenses. Front tow hooks, side mirrors and probably gonna rob the fr and rr seats. and rear bumper. Console and shifter cable.

    Parts of interest.

Trailer hitch, nice rims with crappy 30X9.5s, Good radiator, rite front fender, hood, both rear doors, front doors are good but some small dents at the bottom and the drivers door needs a window regulator but it does work. Good door panels, Headliner is OK but has 2 small spots starting to sag. RR tail light perfect, LR has small small crack but does not leak.

Bad parts, front header and bumper, Catalytic converter rattles,

Any interest email me at goonies.nsd@gmail.com
Gonna part this thing out over maybe 2 weeks and then it goes to Matt to get crushed LOL.
