  2. Picked up the bike today... while there decided to get new brake pads for the front and rear also picked up a lugage rack for the bike too. Now when I ride to work, I can put my gear on that instead of my back... gonna be nice to not have 10lbs of crap attached to me anymore.

I hate wearing a pack when I ride. This should make a big difference.

  4. Riding the bike to work is getting a lil easier each day, however it is more the heat that is paying it toll for me now. The bike rack is great, the only thing I keep on my back now is a half filled camelbak that has lil more than enough water for my 4 mile ride into work. The ride home at night is a breeze.

My only enemies are Heat, Humitity, and Myself at this point.

Be careful in this heat, good thing you have the camelbak to stay hydrated!

  6. yea, I am careful, I am more worried about getting hit by a car at nite, almost happened to me Friday on my way home from work. I had the right a way and she was coming out of a parking lot with no regard to the stop sign.

  7. So yesterday I did my first "real" trail ride on the bike http://en.wikiloc.com/wikiloc/view.do?id=3052010 and it was brutal. Not much in the way of hills, but the difference in terrain than what I was used to made me feel like I was gonna have a heart attack.

Over all I had fun and took the kid with me. We both enjoyed ourselves and plan on going back. Now to work with RPI and come up with a marking system and name the trails.

  8. Dropped the bike off last friday for repairs... It was done Sat, but was unable to pick up. Going to pick up the bike tomorrow once the shop opens. Hope the rain holds off so I can ride to work. Might look to hit the trails again this week too.

  9. So the season is upon us... Pulled my bike out of the basement the other day along with the bike rack. Letting it air out for a day or 2 then this weekend I will be doing my inspection and making the list of what parts I need to start buying. Monday, weather pending, will be a short shake down run on the lazy Hudson-Mohawk trail. I am thinking about doing about a mile out and back just to make sure it shifts right and is not skipping while pedaling. May go longer if it feels right. Need to start calling some state parks that I am not sure if they allow biking at or not and was told that they do.
