    how would i be able to build rock sliders

    i got a 2000 xj sport i wanna build rock sliders. what size tubing would i use how would i mount them what type of tubing etc

    There's dirrent ways of doing it especially with a cherokke being a uni body and u wanna have the doors off use the sliders as a unibody stiffiner as well build one things to do 2 jobs and easyest way would be useing 2 x 1 box steel semi cut it into your lower sill the lenth of the truck weld it up andtheb gusset and tie thtat into the frame rails and. Yould be good way I built my. Cherokee n grand sliders

    Alot of people will cut out their stock rockers and weld in place some capped off 2x4 or 2x6 box steel, thats what i am doing this summer. Weld it to the pinch seam and if you plan on really abusing then then run supports back to the unibody as well. Look around there are tons of write ups on the internet.

    some 2x2 box tubeing and some thick 1/2 plate and a good mig welder. an some 1.25dom tubing, im building mine starting from a unibody mount made from 1/2" angle steel with 2 or 4 box tubes running toward the outside of the truck clamping or being welded to the unibody with the tubing at the end with a kickout bar

    Just make sure you use heavy wall Square tube what ever size you pick. I would go with 2x4x.25 at least.
