Saw your comment on a roof rack for your hard top. I installed a Thule rack tight into my hardtop using http://www.thule.com/en/US/Products/BaseRacks/LoadAccessories/TK13%20Direct%20Mount%20TK%20Base%20for%20Fibergla ss%20Roof.aspx
I had to drill holes, but have had no problem with water leaking through in the rain. I can send you pics or give you more info if you are interested in them.
PS I have only used it for light objects such as surfboards. I imagine any heavy object should not be supported by any rack connected directly to the hardtop.
