I have come across a group that seems to be heading in the same direction that I am trying to go with my State ORV Park idea...
However, even though they exist it seems like our group is being placed on the sidelines and more is being done for the other groups represented. I will be attending their next meeting in hopes to join the council and find out were we can wheel legally as well as what is being done to meet our needs in the 4WD community. Based on the current situation that we are facing, I would say nothing is being done, though I could be wrong. But then again if there is information that pertains to us that is not being shared, then it is the same as them doing nothing.
The following is an excert from their home page:
"The Trails Council currently consists of delegates representing eleven trail activities, including all-terrain vehicles, bicycling, four-wheel drive vehicles, hiking, equine trail interests, Nordic skiing (cross-country), running, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, trail-bike riding (motorized), and water trails. The representatives for each of these user groups are trail users who do not represent commercial interests."

As things develop, I will post here and keep everyone informed. I know one of the representatives is a member of Adirondack Jeep Club. With any luck, I will be able to join the ranks and work towards my goal of getting places opened up for us to have legal wheeling spots across the state.
Wish me luck.
