And I know I cant spell surveilianciencien. fuck it I dont care, but someone's getting beat up in KP today.

Yeah it was always for me, specially since im new in town, and I come from the fucking land of jeeps apparently. But most likely the UPS guy hid the packages, or my neighbor has them. Either way, it will be fun to go over the video loop, as I have never had to before. I saw video of a guy who rigged a paintball gun to his video camera on his house, motion set off the cam / and gun, and wasted anyone in range, automatically. And dude got to watch the video aftermath, which would be awesome!

Wow that's terrible news.

Good luck finding the culprit. If there's anything we can do to help just say the word.
Glad you have the video footage to at least get a lead out of it for a suspect.

edit: just read your update.. here's to hoping it was a neighbor looking out for ya!

This is the reason I had my lift, tires, and bumper delivered to where I work.... Bullshit dude... That the other problem when they plaster their company name all over the boxes.. everybody can see what is sitting there.

snmstuntbikr
01-11-2011, 04:03 PM
Hope it ends up being your neighbor! Yes boxes with company names stamped largly over them is basically an advertisement to invite others to take your sh*t

good luck finding the bastards!

What part of KP do you live in? Paul (UPS for most of KP) is pretty good with that stuff. If they had the wrong address that could be it as well. For instance there are 3 Cedar streets in KP. Plus down where I am in San Remo, the house numbers seem to jump randomly sometimes. So if there was a fill in driver, he may have screwed up.

WOW man, Sorry to hear that. What exactly was in the boxes so we can all keep an eye and ear out for anyone selling those parts or doing an install write up on any forums or craigs list, and e bay?

XXX 3. Tell us what it was and we'll keep an eye out on craigslist. Also, take a cruise around on trash day. If the boxes are big, they may stand out. I hate to say it, but if they were stolen, it probably was one of your neighbors. Or at least someone local who's seen stuff delivered to your house.

Lets go to the video tape (or the digital hard drive). Installing that stufff was my job before i stopped working (i should sell some camera stuff that i still have). Good luck with the interacation of the video, hope the cam's were aimed and focused good.

If he has a video he has no worries, it will be back in his hands within a day, Its weird people are steeling jeep stuff left and right. 2 people at my dads work have 06 wranglers and there husban and wife. Well after a meeting the wife came out to her wrangler with her aftermarket flares stolen. The video camra has them but they had there face coverd. They obviously new what they were going for because they had the flares off extremely fast. Well good luck with ur stuff.

Sorry Bandit - spent yesterday destroying my back digging.

The package showed up on my doorstep the night I posted this. I have a few cameras around my yard, and I am less my front cam, cause the I didnt mount it right and ice killed it. But I saw UPS making the delivery, and thats the last auto-on listed in the program. So......I aksed my neighbor is he saw anything, said "No - I 80 years ole" which is his answer for everything. But funny, I post up, and its returned within 4 hours, .......same day. And UPS did not fuck this one up.

So, thanks all, Its nice to know other eyes will watch CL and ebay if we need it. Thankfully this time I dont. It really does suck though to have stuff delivered to work, then transfer it home. And I refuse to do that. Im going to order something ANYONE with a truck can use, and bait someone. I dont call cops either. hope your reading this, dont FUCK with my house again.

I have a feeling they were just delivered to the wrong address. I've worked for UPS. One time I was out with one of the supervisors and he forgot what street we were on. We delivered about a dozen packages to the wrong houses. The only reason we fixed the problem is that I noticed that when we went to the next delivery, we passed the street he thought we were on. We were only able to get 11 of the 12 deliveries back because someone had picked up one of the packages and brought it inside by the time we got back. And, of course, also wasn't home anymore.

01-13-2011, 09:41 PM
My local UPS guy is always delivering my stuff to the next door neighbor even though the house number are quite clearly marked, I have had to rescue a number of packages. I always get the tracking number and enter a "notify me" when delivered email. Not to offend anyone on here who works for UPS but UPS is actually pronounced "oops!" haha
Glad you got your stuff!

Mike whats the final verdict? was it a neighbor or what?

Evan3492

it was a garden gnome! He obv though it was a lift kit. He wanted to get some more lift to see over your flowers. After trying to install the lift, it just wouldnt work on him, thus he returned your package. END OF STORY.

Not sure dude. I couldn't see anything on video. My neighbor didn't have it, and uPS tracking showed it delivered. The drivers notes said left at front door in their system. It wasn't opened, so I dont think someone took it, realized they cant use it and put it back. Still sealed with pure performance tape(RK's shit) I did call UPS to put a tracer on it, and maybe the driver stashed it somewhere.......I dunno.

You know, this might not be so far fetched. When I first moved into this house, it had garden gnomes all over the place. I removed them, but may have missed one or two, as things were way over grown at first. The yard was filled with Hastas and Garden Gnomes. The hastas began to reproduce like crazy, and the gnomes were on a warpath for months until everything settled down. We only signed the free gnome garden act 3 weeks ago, which gives the gnomes a portion of land, under the agreement they were no longer ravage human occupancies and stop trying to shoot my dog with arrows when shes outside. The head of the gnome alliance in kings park set a final meeting for Sunday to put and end to a long fought war, this will be brought up for sure. And if indeed a gnome took my shit, the treaty is broken, and its war.

So the just reappeared. So is there an alleged thief on here.

It re-appeared 4 hours after posting this. That set off my alarm, yes. But I wonder if it would have without posting now....... Maybe I pulled the trigger too soon?? Im going with that, only to give the benefit of the doubt on a human level. If it was something like you suggested, and the person realized they did something wrong, enough t feel bad about it and not just throw away my package, but put it back....then we just fixed one person, which is good. Either way, Im gonna say sorry to you guys for causing an alarm, for most likely something that was just an honest mistake. Thing that got me, same UPS driver has delivered here since July. UPS and FEDEX - never a problem. Maybe the driver was sick, and the regular dude fixed his problem. FOr the sake of not worrying, im going with that for now, and fixing my security system. I got WANG coming over tommorow after the gnome treaty signing to sort out issues with cam 1 and 3.

Pugulis
01-15-2011, 12:43 PM
Another thing that happens sometimes is that the package gets scanned and then the driver realizes that it's the wrong house and rather than un-scan it (that can be a pain), they just put it to the side and deliver it later.

There is a solution to the gnome problem. If you put a small gargoyle in your yard, it will usually keep the gnomes away. The only problem is that gargoyles also eat cats. So if you have cats this can be a problem (they get along fine with dogs). But, you don't have to worry about them reproducing. If I remember correctly, you need at least 3 gargoyles for them to reproduce. And even if they do, it take years before they become a problem. And since most gargoyles usually like to be on there own, as they grow up, they'll move somewhere else. In extreme cases, gargoyles will get to large (DO NOT FEED THEM). All you need to do is ask them to leave. They're pretty reasonable about this and don't like to stay where they're not welcome. Good luck with the gnome problem.
