cant wait for this coming year, I missed out on a lot of good bass this year, will not let that happen again.
passed on the permit this past year for a couple reasons...but realized half way through summer I had missed out, this is the first year I've missed since my second vehicle. A 83 Grand Wagoneer, lifted with a worked motor. she was a beast, but used to :puke: ujoints like a job

If you're gonna get the State beach access permit, get it early as they stop selling them on April 30 (back on sale after Labor Day). As stated above they're valid from April 1st til the end of the year pending beach condition. Check your local tackle/hunting shops for the salt water fishing permit.

Have a few questions for you guys.
1) What beaches are the permits for.
2) Can you just go hang out on the beach or do you need to be fishing.
3) I heard you are only allowed on to the beach at certain times, it this true

i could be wrong so correct me if i am but i think there talking about smiths point beach and yes there is a beach area for hanging out and you can go down the cuts to the inlet for fishing or just hang out...i much prefer the inlet to hang not as many people there

The inlets good to hang out but theres no surfing there, well not if your smart anyway. At smiths point you can always park and walk in to great gun if you got the kiddies with you. Will smiths point except the fins sticker?

I have been to Smiths Point and know the deal out there, i was wondering about the other beaches like Democrat Point and what ever else we are allowed on.

Democrat Point: April first to Memorial Day beach is open with no time restrictions, Memorial Day-Labor Day beach is closed from 7am-5pm. You have to be on b4 7am, you can leave but cant get back on(my fav time to be on the beach). Labor to December 31 open with no time restrictions.
Soar Thumb and Gilgo: open with only restrictions coming from how much beach there is to drive on. Gilgo had been closed more then it was open this past season.
As far as out east not Im not to sure about. Permit also allows you to park at some of the parking fields at Robert Mosses at night.
Youll need fishing gear for each pass in your 4x4, plus recovery gear and port-a-crapper lol.... i never carry one. HTH

put your recovery gear in a 5 gal buckt with a lid, throw in some shit paper and a trash bag then you can empty out your gear and its your port a crapper. problem solved.
