Bought the XJ 2 weeks ago. The previous owner said they had an intermittent issue with one of the windows. I haven't had any issues until this morning, can't lower any of the windows (from any door switch) or move the side mirrors. The power door locks work from both front doors. Owners manual sux regarding fuses. I've gone through the fuse box and haven't found any blown fuses (other threads said check 12 & 18). I ohm'd them out with my meter. I had a similar problem with my RAM, the driver door switch crapped out. Anyone have this happen to them? As a fall back, anyone have an extra switch?
These posts had some fixes/by-passes for similar but not the same issue.

I had a similar problem. Mine was only with the passenger side though. The wiring harness to the power window buttons was loose. Plugged it back in and everything is fine. So check the one to the drivers side.

Yeah, I'm taking it apart now. Earlier I took it for a ride and the driver side controls worked for all four windows. The other three switches still do not work. Someone mentioned by-passing the window lock button. I might try that while I have it apart.

If the drivers controls work and the others do not, then it is definitely the lock out button.

More than likely its the switch i know i have replaced a few, the door harness had a few problems but they were mostly related to the speakers not working. The harnesses are pretty easy to take out and check.

I go to some yards out in PA. I should make a list of who needs what. 3-5 bucks is a lot better than 63-80 online.

Theres a bad ground wire in the drivers door very common problem, I believe chrysler put a TSB out for it.

Do you know where I can get the TSB # or knowledge base link? I googled Cherokee TSB & added in window switch and ground. Nothing in the basic search results or on carcomplaints.com.
Thanks- Bill

This is on 99-04 Grand Cherokee's and not XJ's and no tsb for it that i have ever seen, but i have fixed a ton of them.
