Rausch Creek Weekend of July 21st...

Rausch Creek - Weekend of July 21st! I plan on driving up Thursday 19th in the afternoon, Wheeling Friday and Sat, and driving home Sunday 22nd mid day. I will be camping at a local camp site about 6 miles from Rausch. There are already 5 trucks going. We will be running hard blues and blacks. If people would like to come and run greens they are more than welcome to come along, meet up, camp and hang out, but be prepared and have other trucks ready and looking to do the same level of trail... This will personally be my longest stay out there. Reason being driving one way and wheeling the same day is rough and Im looking for more time to relax and party in a camp site. Will be staying at Echo vally camp ground. But rausch still has free sites and hotels are available for those not into camping.

ure so nervous...... hahahaahahaha Of course the more high speed low drag armor you have the better you will be, but with rockers and diffs you will be fine. You will be getting high centered on ure belly, I promise you that, but you will make it out alive...

Everybody should be able to make it through jotters..IIRC it isnt all that bad as long as you have 33s and a skill full spotter.

Ive never hit the bottom of the comp course but the area towards the shack is pretty easy for my rig..There is one spot on it that i want video of me making..Last time i didnt have my bumpstops on the rear and the u bolt popped a hole in my fuel tank..

LOL its always good to have a recovery crew on hand and watching..Just put away a good chunk of change for the trip..This will be my rigs last trip for a while..Starting a new direction on the tow pig and thats a lot of work..

A few days and the 99 is runnin great so far. Few squeaks developed but nothing major. Gonna toss it on the lift tonight and go over everything. But shes behaving so far and im doing what i can to go. Biggest thing is cash. Goin to Reno the first week of August for Hot August nights and the wife want to know where the money is coming from for both trips LOL.

Im waiting on some new suspension for the ultimate budget lift....but my Jeep will be there either way. Looking forward to this trip, I have not been there in the dead of summer or with leaves on the trees for that matter. should be a trip.

So far I have put hood louvers in to help temps, and I'm waiting on a set of add a leafs to arrive and I'll be sitting pretty....maybe be removing doors as well :suspicious:

You guys should have a great trip. We went last weekend with my LJ, a JKU Rubi on 35's, and of all things a stock Chevy Avalanche! The park was in great shape and it was the first time out for both of the other drivers, we stuck to greens all morning with the Chevy (I named it the white whale and took to calling its driver Captain Ahab...) but in the afternoon we parked the Chevy and my budy Vin started getting a little more confidence with some blues and an easy black, not too shabby! We had no stucks and the only damage was some foam out of the Chevy's rear bumper, his front plastic popped off the clip, pushed his tailpipe up a bit, and I added some scars to my fuel tank skid when I tried some creative lines. Amanda really rocked all day, I gave her the maps and she picked some great runs and hopped out to spot for us all whenever needed, Berms lessons were put to good use! She picked lines that kept the trucks pretty all day long, the bumps all happened when we weren't following her lead. All my prep work is done, I installed a new battery, hood louvers and the "ultimate budget lift". I used Hulud's old TJ 3" springs with my spacers up front and an add-a-leaf out back. I netted close to 3" of lift and I am now standing very tall. Ride quality is far better then I thought it would be. Can't wait to get in the rock gardens! I didnt take any install pics but I will be updating my build thread after the trip.

Yeah i heard..At least you got it fixed and you are ok.. I found out the hard way that my distributor touched my firewall..During my denial of the rock face next to stair step i had to do a reverse recover to save the truck and i think the front frame section flexed enough to make the contact..It started running rough after that..Then when i tried to hit the easy peasy hill on jotters way she got air a few times and stalled out for good there.. I needed plug wires since a few were rotted and i still have to do some clearancing to the firewall..that will have to do until i get my tow pig done and my van..At that time i will build some sorta cage for the truck.

Ive gotta squeeze some cash outta my arse to make one last trip to test the truck before aetna mountain thanksgiving weekend..Man that woulda been utmost embarrassing to drive to tenn and that happen.
