Took the jeep out for a little test run to see how all the control arms were working out, the clearances with the new 8.8 axle and see how the e-locker worked out. Turns out the locker didn't work. Got power going to the switch, but the locker doesn't engage. When I took my brother for a short trip through the woods 2 days ago, i thought the locker was engaging since I made it up a certain section i generally need 5-6 attempts and 3 spotters, but this time i ran up it on the first try. I didn't "feel" the general characteristics associated with driving a locked vehicle, so I wasn't convinced. I took it out today and found the perfect test: the right hand side of one section of the trail was lined with thick ice and the other side had fairly dry dirt, i lined the jeep up so one side was on the ice and the other was on the dirt and gunned it, basically acted like an open diff: tire spun on the ice and tire on dirt stayed put :(
I was pissed. The switch gets power and the seems to be wired right. Could be one of the few suckers with a defective model. I'm takin it to a shop tomorrow to see if my wireing is correct. On the positive note, the IronMan control arms flexed quite nicely, and the 4.56 gears handle the weight of my 33s nicely and leave enough power on tap.

I hope its something minor like orangecruch said... gotta test it at the locker with the switch on to see if you have power to that point... could also be a bad ground, just an idea.

Yes, I really hope it's wiring and not the unit itself. I'll find out after 1pm today.

just watched to vid.. nice trail.. looks like same type of trail/rocks i remember up in CT... I gotta get my ass back up there..Wonder if any of the trails I used to run are still open.. I used to wheel up by colinsville / torrington area and then up by simsbury / granby area had some good stuff too. Sometimes would hit the trails and pits up in southwick Mass too

Called up EATON today and actually figured out what the problem was, the plug from the locker to wire harness was not allowing proper contact to engage the locker. So basically the soloution is to ditch the plug and solder the wires together.

Found the problem! Talked with an EATON specialist and turned out the plug was the issue. THe plug wasnt allowing the wires to connect. So we need to cut the plug out, solder the wires together, heat shrink and good to go!
