So I snapped this offroading it looks like it fits into a ball socket joint type thing attached to the bar that runs along the front bumper. I think it's the stabilizer bar.
How bad is it for me to drive around like that and does anyone know how to fix it?

The thin bar is what it was attached to

Stabilizer Bar Link... going to have to buy a new one.. Fairly easy to replace and not an expensive part.

Or could be time to upgrade to quick disconnects..

You can drive around like that.. Just don't take any turns too fast..more body roll.

does pep boys have the quick disconnects or is that something I would have to get through quadratec?
and is it something that I could replace myself?

Pep Boys probably won't have the quick discos.. you could def. get them from any online distributor.. I would go for the JKS quick disconnects since they seem to be the most popular and the best available..

You could easily do this yourself provided you have the tools.. I'm sure there's plenty of people on here who would be willing to help you out, myself included.

pepboys? go to your local NAPA, there are all family owned and live here on LI.

if you dont wheel that often stick with OEM replacements, quicks can be annoying to deal with if you dont wheel.
if your looking to wheel more get the quicks as you will keep popping OEMs off...... JM2C

they indeed are cheap, i have them on my LJ and had them on my TJ before. Its funny buying them doesnt cost much more than buying 1 stock link. now for the negatives, they are noisy, i can hear them rattle and what not over bumps because of a slight amount of play between the 2 halves and the pins. I am working on a solution for this though either with a bolt and wingnut or with slightly larger pins and then reaming the holes to accomodate it so things will fit tighter.

Would i recommend them, of course, hell i bothered to unbolt them from my tj when i wrecked and now they are on the LJ

i ordered a pair of discos from rough country, solid product takes literally mins to install. id say grab onto the broken end of the link with some vice grips and work that nut off.

lol I would take you up on that but I do not get home till after 10 pm.
I have tons of tools in my garage as my brother is a mechanic however a year of working on my 89 yj has basically used up all my brother points with him
and he absolutely wants nothing to do with jeeps and gets pissed when I even mention the word jeep around him now.
So I would probably need some assistance with taking them off. If I purchase the quick discos I also need to replace the bushings correct? The piece that is on the actual sway bar is ripped and it looks like it had a thin metal ring around it which is now torn. I looked up the bushings and discos from quadratec and seemed decent I will check out the other site mentioned also. As I plan on doing plenty of offroad driving I would prefer to not keep breaking them. I think I may have snapped it when I was crossing a river sunday at one point the side I broke dropped real low into a hole and the opposite side rear wheel came all the way out of the water.
But that kind of stuff is way too much fun to stop doing.

all my tools are down in dix hills but i've pulled some sway bar ends off a few times so if you run into a jam we could meet at my my parents place where my tools are hiding and knock it out pretty easily. i see you have a bunch of other offers though so whatever is good for you

I have 2 full snap on tool boxes in my garage, My brothers friend was going to school for auto mechanics and is now doing a teaching internship so I have all his tools. plus my brothers who is a diesel mechanic and my fathers who used to work on the cars he had for his cab company so unless I need specific specialty tools I should have access to tools. But I do greatly appreciate all the help and offers.
I may need help with the mechanical aspects of it, I am not all that mechanically inclined other then simple maintenance type things so usually if I cant find decent how to instructions online I may need help. I have never done it before so not sure but looks kinda straight forward.

Even though I go to Pep boys allot, they are the worst store around. Nobody knows anything and their computers will give the wrong part number. I need new links (bolts) for the rear of my ZJ and they don't even show up in their computer

Where were you crossing a river?

I was upstate in the adirondacks My family has a cabin up there on the lake and there are miles and miles of old logging trails and snowmobile trails.
