D30 should be easy. Just need a carrier from a 4 cyl YJ with 4:10s. But the D44 may take some searching.
Hey you get the pitman arm???

I did, got the old drop one off, but the one you sent me does not want to go on. I got the splines matched up right but my 12" adjustable wrench isnt close to enough to tighten the nut up enough to push it up onto the splines all the way, I out my legs and everything into it too

the pitman arm nut takes a 1 5/16 socket. And if ure still looking for install kits ECGS has them and they come with more hardware for a better price than most ive found. If ure spending the time and money on a regear, id go all new components.

Def going all new for sure!!!
However i decided im prolly not going to settle for 4:10, think i might sell my 4:10 r+P sets and go straight to 4:56
D30 carrier hhas been acquired, which means i have everything to do the front axle
BTW QUICK ???
Local 4x4 shop quoted me 150 per axle in the xj to regear them, thats pretty good right?

Thats almost scary cheap. The Dana 30 is shimmed between the carrier and the bearings. They need to be measured rite the first time. You cant toss the carrier in and out swapping shims. It cost us that much to have the guy at the machine shop to set the ring and pinion up and pressing the bearings on. Thats not including the axle tear down or the install kit. Even if your giving them the install kit and the axle out of the car thats really cheap. Id be worried they dont check the shims replace the bearings at all. The Dana 44 is easier but still $150. is TOO cheap. Just make sure you see the old parts and maybe even visually see that they changed everything. But even with that you wont know if they shimmed it correctly untill you drive it for a while. Setting up a ring and pinion is an art and requires a good tech to do it properly. Just double check everything.

If its an offroad shop than im sure they know what it takes for the D30, so go for it. Is that with you supplying the gears, bearings and seals? So there doing just labor? And your giving them gutted axles? They just have to stuff them? If so $150 each is a possability. And still darn cheap LOL.
