Hi all.. Been living down here on LI for about 8 years now. Love wheelin and building trail rigs. Worked as a professional mechanic for many years untill it killed my hobby. I left the field to regain my passion for building rigs. I presently am wheelin a 2000 XJ that I started early this year after my other XJ was crushed by a tree at work. ( didnt get a penny out of them for that). Ive got a whole back log of pictures so ill have to start a build thread. And today when I get out of work I am lifting my buddies JK and fitting it with 35's.

Hey Matt i have a question. Maybe you can help. I need to regear and cant find anyone to do it for a reasonable price. Maybe since your a mechanic and you know jeeps you can tell me if this is what i need.
I have a 2004 TJ and i put on a lift kit, spacers and 32.5 tires. No joke i get 150 miles per tank. On a good day. Everyone in the forums say regear. But to what 4.56 or 4.88, and what can i do to get up to at least 14-15. Oh most importantly is where?

You are getting more than 150 mils per tank. But with the larger tires the speedo and odometer are not calibrated for the tire size you are running. What gears re you running now? 4.88 is way to high for 32.5" tires. Even the 4.56 is kind of steep. I would say 4.10's unless you are planning on going larger in the future then get the 4.56's. You only want to do them once. Gears aint cheap. I dont know of anywhere in brooklyn, but if you want to make a trip out to Huntington Station, Accelerated Auto is the shop where I used to work. It is run by my cousin. They do all sorts of truck aplications and are great with gear instalations. 631-271-9280 is the shop #
